A cruise down the Nile is one of the most romantic ways to see Egypt, watching traditional village life on the banks and stopping to tour the archaeological and cultural treasures of Cairo, Luxor and Aswan on the way. The standard of cruise ships varies a lot. Our selection leads in with the very comfortable Emeco ships, followed by the 5 star Sonesta cruisers, and then the 5 star deluxe Oberoi Philae and Oberoi Zahra, the highest standard available.
Another fantstic cruising option is from Aswan across beautiful Lake Nasser visiting mysterious temples, citadels and the magnificent Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel. The Lake, created by the building of the Aswan Dam, covers 500 square kms of the ancient Nile Valley. A salvage operation in 1960 rescued many of the most precious archaeological remains and rebuilt them on the lake shore. The 5 day itinerary travels at a more leisurely pace.
