Luckily the country is small enough for visitors to reach many of the major sites with ease, including the capital Amman, the astonishingly well-preserved Greco-Roman ruins of Jerash, the Dead Sea, the legendary historic rose-red city of Petra and the stunning desert landscapes of Wadi Rum.
